Paulette has submitted an objection to the planning application for another betting shop on the Erdington High Street.
We have seen a rise of crime and antisocial behaviour directly associated with the existing shops and adding an additional shop will not help the situation. We already have seven betting shops along the Hight Street and we should be aiming to decrease, not increase.
Commenting on the objection, Paulette said, “I share the concerns of local residents and businesses. The high concentration of betting shops along Erdington High Street encourages problem gamblers to move from shop to shop and continue gambling. Notwithstanding the crime and antisocial behaviour that follows.”
