Paulette Hamilton Labour MP for Birmingham Erdington
Access to information
On BBC Politics Midlands, Paulette spoke about the need to provide people with better information to help reduce their energy bills.
Rather than talking to the public, the Tories seem to be more focused on fighting amongst themselves and crashing our economy.
Sewage dumped in our rivers
As Environment Secretary, Liz Truss cut £235m from the Environment Agency’s budget.
This money could have been used to reduce the amount of raw sewage being pumped into our rivers, but there were a shocking 241 incidents in Birmingham alone last year.
Prospect of nurses going on strike
As a former nurse, the last thing Paulette would have wanted was to go on strike.
But in Tory Britain, it pains Paulette to see that some nurses are forced to use foodbanks because they haven’t had a proper pay rise.
The Government needs to work with the unions to sort this situation out.
