Commenting on the visit, Paulette Hamilton said, “It was a pleasure to spend the morning on Erdington High Street for the tenth anniversary of Small Business Saturday.
“Baguette Du Maison, Farrell’s, Oikos Cafe and Swannies’ Flowers, Plants & Gifts, are just some of the brilliant small and independent shops we have in Erdington and they love our High Street!
“Small businesses are a critical part of our local economy and community. They are at the heart of our High Street and are essential local employers.
“But they need a government who will listen to their concerns around business rates and help them to thrive.
“Labour will stand up for small businesses by cutting their business rates and legislating to ensure that invoices are paid on time.
“So on Small Business Saturday and during the festive season, please support our local economy and community by shopping small and shopping local!”
