This year marks the 75th anniversary of the first arrivals from HMT Empire Windrush. It’s an opportunity to remember and celebrate the contributions made by the Windrush generation to British society.

Commenting on the event, Paulette Hamilton said, “I was honoured to speak at the CWU Windrush 75th Anniversary Event about the important roles that Windrush families played during post-war Britain and I know how important it is to recognise their contributions.

“I’m proud to be a child of the Windrush generation and of the contributions my parents and their generation made to Britain. Whilst we celebrate their contributions, we continue to fight for the justice that so many from this special generation deserve.”
