Paulette at the Safer Streets campaign

Road safety is a matter of life and death, and we all have a responsibility to make our streets safer for everyone. Last month, Paulette participated in a National Day of Action for Safer Streets, to raise awareness on preventing road accidents, injuries, and deaths.

As part of this effort, Paulette backing the campaign to reduce speeds to 30mph on local roads, especially in areas where there are schools, shops, parks, and other places where people walk and cycle. Research shows that lowering speed limits can reduce the risk and severity of collisions, as well as encourage more people to choose active travel modes. This can have positive impacts on health, environment, and community cohesion.

Paulette Hamilton MP said, “I would urge everyone to have their say by taking part in the consultation that is currently open until 19th November.”
