Paulette Hamilton Labour MP for Birmingham Erdington
We are pleased of the outcome of our community campaign in opposition to the establishment of another HMO in our neighbourhood. The council has refused the planning application for a 6-bedroom HMO, thanks to the concerted efforts of local residents. Concerns were brought to the attention of Paulette Hamilton MP, who organised a petition collecting 222 signatures from concerned locals that was presented to the council.
Commenting on the decision, Paulette said “As the local MP for Erdington, Kingstanding, and Castle Vale, I am pleased by the council’s decision to reject the HMO application on Gainsford Road. This outcome is a testament to the power of community action, with my petition uniting 222 Kingstanding and Oscott residents to protect the character and integrity of our area.
“Our collective voice has been made loud and clear and I remain committed to ensuring the highest quality of life for our constituents.
“This decision sends a clear message that our area will no longer be an easy touch for developments that do not serve the best interests of our community.”
