Paulette Hamilton MP was joined by West Midlands Police and Crime Commissioner (PCC) Simon Foster and Detective Superintendent Jim Munro on a walkabout along Erdington High Street, speaking to businesses and residents about the transformative impact of Operation Fearless.

Since its launch in January 2025, the £880,000 initiative, funded by criminal cash seizures, has made over 140 arrests, targeting shoplifting, drug dealing, violent crime, and anti-social behaviour. They heard firsthand how the operation’s dedicated six-officer High Street team, introduced in April, has restored confidence among traders and shoppers alike.

During the visit, shop owners highlighted the visible police presence and rapid response to incidents, which have deterred gangs and reduced thefts. One trader noted, “The High Street feels safer, customers are returning, and the constant patrols make a real difference”.

Paulette said, “Erdington was crying out for action, and Operation Fearless has delivered. This is just the beginning; we’ll keep working to ensure progress continues.”
