Paulette Hamilton Labour MP for Birmingham Erdington
Paulette has formally written to Birmingham City Council to support West Midlands Police’s objection to the alcohol license of Drinks2Go on Erdington High Street.
Paulette Hamilton’s intervention follows concerns from residents and local stakeholders about the negative impact of the premises, including increased antisocial behaviour and street drinking in the area. With Operation Fearless making significant progress in tackling crime and antisocial behaviour in Erdington, Paulette has stressed the importance of maintaining these improvements by ensuring responsible alcohol sales.
Paulette said, “At a time when Erdington High Street has seen real progress thanks to the hard work of the police, the council, traders, and residents, it’s disappointing to see these issues resurfacing.
“We must stand with our partners in West Midlands Police to ensure licensing laws are properly enforced and our community is protected.”
Paulette has urged the Licensing Committee to take the police’s objection seriously and consider all regulatory options to address the situation.
