Paulette Hamilton MP, backed by Friends of Conker Island and 167 local signatories, has submitted a community petition calling for urgent action to address longstanding issues at the beloved park.
The petition highlights residents’ concerns over maintenance, safety, and accessibility, urging the council to prioritise improvements.
Paulette praised the collective effort, stating, “Thank you to every single person who signed, your voice matters. Together, we’re sending a clear message that Conker Island deserves investment and care.”
The campaign reflects growing frustration over the park’s condition, with locals emphasising its importance as a green space for families and children.
