Erdington High Street has become a national example of how targeted action and investment can transform community safety, as the success of Operation Fearless led a key parliamentary debate on police presence in town centres.

Local MP Paulette Hamilton highlighted the initiative as proof that “when we listen, act, and invest, change happens.” The operation, which saw increased police patrols and community engagement in Erdington, has significantly reduced crime and revitalised the high street.

Speaking in Parliament, Paulette praised the collaborative efforts of local officers, businesses, and residents, emphasising that visible policing builds trust and deters crime.

Paulette emphasised, “Erdington’s lesson is clear,” By working together and prioritising safety, we can create thriving high streets where businesses and families feel secure.
