Paulette Hamilton MP continues to fight for vital upgrades to Conker Island Park after hearing from frustrated parents about broken bins, hazardous play equipment, and rising antisocial behaviour in the area.

The Kingstanding park, a beloved community space for families, has suffered from neglect, leaving children playing near damaged structures and litter piling up due to overflowing bins. Local residents have also raised concerns about groups gathering, making the park feel unsafe.

Paulette said, “Our children deserve safe, clean spaces to play. It is unacceptable that parents have to worry about hazards in a park that should be a place of joy for the community.

“Parks like Conker Island are the heart of our neighbourhoods, I won’t stand by while they’re left to crumble. We need action now.”

Working alongside the Friends of Conker Park, Paulette will be writing to Birmingham City Council to demand urgent action.

Paulette is calling on the community to sign the petition and make their voice heard
