That’s it was a proud moment for Paulette Hamilton MP to share that Chivenor Primary and Pegasus Primary are set to receive investment for brand-new Best Start School-Based Nurseries. This is real investment coming directly to our community.
For years, areas like ours were overlooked. We saw it when the previous Conservative Prime Minister, Rishi Sunak, admitted to funnelling funding to leafier constituencies while neglecting communities like Castle Vale. It was a clear admission that we weren’t getting our fair share.
Now, under Labour, that has changed. We’re seeing what a difference a Labour government makes, not just in words, but in action.
Access to high-quality early education is vital. It’s not just helpful with the juggle of work and family life; it’s how we set our children up to achieve and thrive. In recent years, we’ve seen worrying numbers of children arriving at school not ready to learn. Opening up access to early years education is how we reverse that.
This week, we got the brilliant news that Chivenor and Pegasus’s bids were successful, creating more crucial nursery places right here in Castle Vale.
It’s evidence of what can happen when you have brilliant local schools, working with an active Local MP, working with a Labour government to back our families and our children.
This government is breaking the unfair link between background and success, so where you come from doesn’t determine where you end up. Because it believe that children growing up in Castle Vale, and across our country, deserve the best start in life.
